Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

I don't think that Invaluable polices its sellers for authenticity.

Actually the ones Lizzie is currently posting are by a forger in Ireland. 

This guy just keeps pumping them out.  One of the most blatant forgeries is a drawing, which was done by a fan named Alba - AFTER she went to Michael's Memorial.  She called the painting:  "Going home"  (with Mickey escorting MJ to heaven):

But then Parr had one by the forger in Ireland that traces that art.  You can't even make out what's floating above MJ's head on the forgery.  It looks like a continent - not the tree's which are shown in Alba's artwork. Parr's answer earlier in this thread when asked about this, was that Alba wasn't the original artist, the one he had was the original.  Thieves.  That's what they are.

Profiles in History removed the MJ drawings from the auction this morning. And Lizzie, what I forgot to mention yesterday was that the person who told PIH about the drawings learned about them thanks to your and Wascher's efforts here. That person even said they were the kind that Simon Parr Auctions sold.

Thank you Steve, that is wonderful news :)  I hope that other auction houses will follow their very good example.  It seems that there is such a large volume of these fakes in circulation that they have almost 'overtaken' Michael's real signature as exemplars of his style.  I am very glad that all of the detailed and careful work that washer has done here is helping to put both fans and auction houses on the right track :)

On the latest Mickeys you posted Lizzie - I noticed that the signatures are nearly identical on certain pieces.

Here is lot 309 lot 317 and 343 (click to see all of them fully side by side)

To go further I took lot 303 and 346 and overlapped them for the below image.  The loop for Michaels L is off slightly but the rest is very similar (I could play with this longer and I'm sure I could get the height of the items to be closer but I think the image speaks by itself.
