I just learned about this tragedy today. I've never watched "The Voice", but obviously she had talent and a bright future ahead. Only 22 years old! A life snuffed out by some POS. She was actually signing autographs when she was shot to death. What a tragedy.

I think we are being a little harsh on James. His original post was certainly not off-topic as it related to an autograph signing. He was also forcefully condemning two acts that currently appear to be criminal rather than political. The fact that questions get asked about firearms availability after such events is understandable - just as questions are asked about airport security after incidents in the air. I agree that one has to be careful in choosing the words to ask such questions.

I actually spoke to James privately and told him my thoughts on the subject - which was to agree with him (not that that needed to be told)  But I told him so he understands I'm not against him by stopping the discussion.  Its just not the place for it.

I think everyone here knows James is a good guy - it just needed to be halted before it got ugly, and that can happen fast on subjects like gun laws.

So lets just stop that part of the discussion.  And I appreciate the other members who told James its all cool and they took no offense.

Sorry, my passion on the subject got the best of me. I might add though that my very best friend has the exact opposite views on the subject from me, and we've been friends for 20 years. We sometimes have lively conversations, though! Hope I didn't lose too many friends today. Stay safe everyone.
Buddy I'm totally cool with you and respect your opinion!
Thanks, Barry. I appreciate it. And I respect your opinion too.
I respect your opinion as well but if we debated all this stuff here it would bury the autograph discussions.
Good point, Rick. I think that is very true.

no issues James.

Cool. Thanks, Terrier.

A few of my friends are at CHVRCHES' show in Baltimore tonight. They ramped up security noticeably, but the band continued with their record store signing (with about 10 extra security guards) and fanclub meet and greet. Things were a bit tighter. Friend said the club has security closer to that of a fest.

Wow are they doing a signing at a Gamestop? They are a pretty big "newerish" band. Pretty cool.
