1938 or 1939 Yankees team ball, help with year and authenticity opinions?

Hello,

Can anyone provide an insight into this baseball? Can you help me pin down the year and wether or not all signatures are legit and no clubhouse signatures.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

Gehrig is no good

Definitely no good. Must be a clubhouse signature, I would suppose.
Does anyone know what the approximate value would be on this ball if the Gehrig is a clubhouse? Value if authentic? Trying to purchase the baseball and the seller and I are having a disagreement on value. Just want some second opinions. Thanks!

this is a 1938 team ball.  the Gehrig is clubhouse.  if the Gehrig were authentic, it would increase the value immensely.  While it is a championship ball, and it is the Yankees, I am not sure if the value would be more than 1500 dollars.

Thanks everyone for the input! The $1500 value is what I told the seller. But after authentication fees and auction value fees, the seller would be lucky to take home $700. I offered $500 cash. Figured it would be harder to sell with the money at important signature bring a clubhouse.

Thanks terrier for pinning the year down as well! The wealth of info on this website is amazing!
