Just want some honest opinions on if you guys think any of these auctions are legit or should I steer clear. JSA's office is about 40 minutes from where I live but costs 100$ to authenticate. I am likely going to them after if I am to buy from one of those listings. I really don't want be out a 100$ on a forgery. Thanks

But explain the gap with the marker? Im starting to think its the other way around and the PSA one was copied from this and they filled in the gap and autopen it. PSA has been fooled before. But im no expert. I trust mine. But I am definitively going here before I buy any more signatures.

Brandon,

Could you please take an even higher resolution image of your MJ? That should be able to tell what's really going on.

Sure thing. I didn't want to remove it but here are a few pictures. Sorry for the glare.

Brandon...you have a very valid argument based on what you have said.  Either way, one is the copy of the other.

IMO there is no way that two signatures are that close (its impossible - try signing your name once and getting it identical "anywhere" - it can't be done - lay your own sig over the other and see how close you are (your full name)  The tiny bit off on lining them up is usually due to how an image is taken (straight on or slightly off center, with a camera or with a scanner both taken at different times etc).

As for skips etc, I have seen reprints actually skewed some as well as little dots or things added into pics or even spots missing.

I actually believe the PSA would be legit and yours the copy..... I am basing this on the pressure of the pen being seen on the PSA (lighter on the way down on the J - due to faster writing speed, and darker on the follow through loop etc). The pressure is seen well on that image all over it.  Just my two cents.  It also makes no sense to lose that money on an autograph either (that the person paid so much and sold for peanuts)  Signatures did not go down that much just because of the doc.  He is all I study and I have not seen a dip at all.  Since his death there has been a steady decline but they've stayed pretty much level for awhile now.

I hate when this kind of stuff shows up on the forum because I truly feel bad for you - as its now questionable - REALLY questionable. Like I'd be getting my money back questionable.

The PSA example (source) shows pressure and speed variations lacking in Brandon's copy. I'd seek a refund immediately.

+1

Yup and I beat you to the overlay :P (Eric)

Yes, you did! :-)

Both Steve and I are talking to Brandon privately on his options and giving him information on what he likely bought, and hoping we can help him out.

Good deal - he is lucky as are we for this site.

Your thoughts? Supposedly the seller's in law was one of MJ's bodyguards in 1991. Story is probably bogus.   https://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Michael-Jackson-Personalized-Autograp...
