A few years back when I was just getting into autographs, I bought thousands of dollars worth from a dealer who also gave me a certificate of authenticity. A person at a major auction looked at them and said that they were fake. Now I can’t get my money back. Any suggestions?

That is almost as funny as the photo of Myron Ross with a "Monet" he authenticated.

All the music stuff I saw on his website were terrible forgeries -- not even close. Guy is a total scammer - he knows this stuff is garbage.  You can go on his website now and buy stuff - so he lied when he said he sold his entire collection.  Also his "COA" is just a notarized letter. A notary can only certify the person in front of him is who he says he is -- not whether the autograph is real or not.  Worthless.

Agree on the notary.

Also, that is not a COA at all. It is a story about who he supposedly got them from.  It does not guarantee authenticity or a refund if found to be fake.

I'd also consider contacting law enforcement in his town. That might get his attention.

I looked at the site. Agree that it's all crap.

It can be a clue if you look at overall inventory. He has huge quantities of books and records and index cards.  All are available for next to nothing and then he (or someone) adds bogus signatures.

and why not contact the local newspaper in his area .  I am sure he would not want the publicity

I definitely remember that name. Wasn't Jim Falkenstern on this website for a while, posting videos with Myron Ross and whatnot? Nice enough guy, just kind of an idiot who clearly shouldn't be dabbling in this hobby.

I saw some more examples of junk on his website. He had a song and dance about where he obtained the stuff.  I suppose it's possible he got taken himself and doesn't realize it.

I just googled his name. He is a bartender/manager in the Washington D.C. area.  There are also a few sites that talk about his forgeries.

The "Bowie" items are ludicrous - not even an attempt.

hey mitch if giles says no good i belives him also try roger eberson but  notsure how long ago u bought them becuase u need to know ur statue of limitations.

i won a suit over fake posters but it was becuase i was im time  .even though the seller we both know tried to fight me on it but i got the judgement in court

Bought in August of 2016.

First post. I too made a purchase from popculturesignatures about a week ago. It looks like they are still doing the same song and dance when confronted with questions. I emailed asking for authentication or a a way to certify what I purchased was legit. Yes, I should have done this before. After a day of no response, I dug further into the business and learned it is run out of a single family ranch home in a semi rural, older neighborhood in VA, hardly the backdrop to a place selling impossibly rare autographed items. Further research shows no certifications and that the owner is actually a bartender for normal job. I emailed again stating I would “return to sender” the item due to me believing just comparing known signatures that it was most likely not legit and requested a refund offering to pay restocking or for his inconvenience. I received a long winded response stating typically no refunds and that he had to use my money to pay for other bills first. He also attacked the authentication process as BS and a way for dealers with duel interests to eliminate the competition. it comes across as a distraction attempt from fact he has no way of verifying anything on his site than with the stories behind the items, which all seem a little far fetched. Basically, he portrays himself as the small business against the big bad corporate types. The fact that he’s used the same excuses with refunds and has popped up across multiple sites as selling forgeries, I cannot believe his site has not been shut down by now. It actually looks so old like an abandoned site, but I can assure you it still takes credit card payments. Luckily, chase was very understanding and has stopped payment. Beware!
