You could mat it so that the personalization at the top is blocked. With a nice photo, I suspect it would do well.
Not sure on value, but I wouldn't let it go for less than a few hundred bucks.
Did he typically draw that sketch? If not, it will surely command a nice price. Very cool.
The sketch is not typical, but there's definitely a good amount out there. Unfortunately, the market on Ali has has cooled down - he signed a TON and it's showing in some of the prices realized. As is, without being framed within a nice display, I'd value it at around $250-350.
You may be able to get a bit more if you're patient and find the right buyer looking for this desirable quote however.
I have seen him draw the "ring" sketch a number of times. It's authentic, imo. I would value it at $200, possibly more to the right buyer. It would look very nice matted with a photo with the inscription hidden.
because of the quality of the item (pristine) and the content, I would put the value at higher than 200. I was thinking at least 500. Its one of the nicest Ali examples i have seen and his comment exemplifies his swagger when he was the king of boxing. I love this item, personally.
I agree with Terrier. This piece is amazing. I would not even crop out the personalization, but that is just my own personal opinion. Do not sell this item short, Nathan.
Very true. My mom and dad saw him in a restaurant in Cape Cod in the late 60’s. He was very polite and signed an autograph which I still have.
Nathan, it seems that everyone is in agreement that your Ali is authentic. Plus it is an superb example. There seems to be some debate of the potential price it will bring based on the current market. Mine seems to be the low end(no disrespect intended). And $500+ at the high end.
If you desire to sell it why not place it here in our Buy, Sell, and Trade section? Include your asking price with a best offer option. See what happens. No fees to worry about. One would think that Muhammad would draw some good interest here.
