Unfortunately it's definitely not genuine.
It's very slowly and roughly signed, like the forger was looking at a real Jeter and trying to copy it. Look at the top of the second big loop particularly. The entire piece looks like it was signed by someone who never forged anything before. Can you alert the person who gave you the gift so they can hopefully get their money back?
That's a nasty piece-of crap!!! Did someone actually purchase this?
I know barely anything about Jeter, but I have to concur with the basic ideas here: It's slowly drawn, not signed. Unless someone has rock solid video evidence of Jeter writing his name as slowly as humanly possible, it's safe to declare this one fake.
