Need help - Does anyone recognize this autographed baseball with a *24?

I acquired this in Durham NC in about 1999-2000.  That's all I know about it.  Haven't been able to identify whose name is on the ball.

I can tell that it's signed with a *24....

It looks like Michael Tucker's auto. But considering its origin I may not be right.
