Electric Light Orchestra "TIME" LP - signed by Jeff Lynne

I'm new to the signed memorabilia world, first purchase is this LP of Time signed by Jeff Lynne. It is certified by Global Authentics but as I am learning that doesn't seem to mean a lot. I am looking to get some extra opinions, what do you all think?

The mere presence of that sticker will turn some collectors off immediately.

Agreed.  One look at that sticker is enough for many of us to pass.  Maybe you could have one of the other TPAs take a look at it?

Which do you recommend? I wanted to get some second opinions first before I put any more money into it. Currently looking at Beckett.

Alex -

There are folks on this board who would be in a much better position than myself to advise you on a piece like this (this is not my area...but I do like ELO as a fan).  I know that Roger Epperson is well respected as a music authenticator.  He and Beckett do reasonably priced Quick Opinions which might be a start.

Maybe others here will offer their thoughts......

I see a Global Authentics COA as a certificate of forgery, not authenticity.

Here is a PSA certified album for comparison.  Hard to say if yours will pass but it's definitely in the ballpark. The problem with Global is that they attracted many collectors with low ball prices for their services but were not diligent when evaluating the signatures. Too lenient. Thus, they earned their bad reputation.

I am not keen on it but see what others say.  Autographcoa is the authentication company I would recommend above all the others

I agree, michelle.

Not real for me
