Oh yes, I remember that!

Hey Jimmy James, those were the days I was so excited that I'd be lucky to get 3 hours of sleep. It was definitely a combined effort.. maybe the best example of this community coming together as a whole. You were right there too with great ideas and a huge contribution. Those are some good memories to look back on. I emailed SOOOO many different journalists and feel I was lucky that Chris Willman ran with it. He made it all happen so fast with Variety magazine and it went national in an instant. We all won a huge battle that sent Shockwaves. Not all celebrities have caught on though. They still try to deceive in their own ways. Im just glad im back to getting a full night's rest these days. Im happy I was able to channel extensive info into one source to help us all, and then what happened with his artwork after was just ridiculous. No one would ever think the fraud would go that far.. this hobby should never forget about those Bob Dylan days. We truly can make a difference if we all come together.

Just saw this  Jason H, well said and a big +1 from me!

Mine was canceled by Magnolia Thunderpussy

Really happy to get this. Thanks for posting.

Woke up today, still feeling irked that the Weekend, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Lady Gaga and now Elton are permitted to advertise and cite their INITIALLED Cd's Albums, as being "SIGNED" or 'AUTOGRAPHED".

Found this on Google and it really says it all:

"An initial generally does not count as a full autograph, as an autograph typically refers to a person's full signature, while an initial is just an abbreviated version of their name, often used for quick approval or to signify agreement on a document, but does not carry the same weight as a full signature."

We all deserve better for our hard earned money.

Perhaps we here on Autograph Live could lead by example in a mass Passing on these LITTERS !

For the record, J, Gaga heard the criticism and has said her forthcoming release will be full signatures. Still dont excuse the Chromatica crap, but at least she is supposedly doing the fans right this time around.

A signed Elton John CD for a total of $21, even if just an initial is a no Brainer. For those not interested, simply don't buy it but I feel its a bargain 😎

How is this still available at DarkSide Records?

Only thing I can think of is first wave were sucked up by people placing multiple orders that got cancelled and then it fell off people’s radar bc it was “sold out” everywhere you looked.

Add Chris Martin’s “C” and Jared Leto’s symbol to the Autograph Hall of Shame - not only complete garbage but also a “bait & switch.”

However, these two and none of the aforementioned artists can hold a Candle in the Wind to Sir Elton.  I’m happy someone of his stature is signing for such a nominal price. A verified, true legend.

Provenance is something to consider. While a letter or initial can be easily forged, the original proof of purchase that includes a notation that the cd/lp was a signed purchase will go a long way to proving that it was purchased from the source.

That’s why I keep all of my purchase confirmations and packing slips.
