The founder of the Marvel Universe, Stan Lee, passed away Monday at age 95.

Along with Jack Kirby, Stan Lee created some of most iconic and enduring figures of the last 60 years: Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Thor, Captain America, the X-Men and many more.

Lee himself was a celebrity, often making cameo appearances in Marvel films, and he was a regular on the convention circuit — glad handing, signing autographs and taking photos with fans until the last months of his life.

While Stan Lee signed a multitude of autographs at appearances and through private signings, his enduring popularity makes him a target of forgers. Sadly, with Stan Lee's death, forgery merchants will be hawking their fake autographs in great numbers.

Given the poor image and size, it's inconclusive in my opinion.

Some sigs are obviously good, some are plainly bad, and there are others in a gray area. From what I can see, I'd put this in the gray area.

In any case, $1000 AUD seems insanely high. (~$630 US)

For far less than that, you can get a witnessed and slabbed authenticated Stan Lee on a classic silver age Marvel comic book. To each his own, but I wouldn't pay more than $100 for a signed action figure even if I was 100% certain it was real.

Its a shame its only in the grey area. Not worth it if not 80% sure.

Price wise i'm pretty happy with because that figure is worth about $1k aud market price.

Thanks for the reply !!!

Hi Steve I was wondering if you could tell me whether you think this stan lee signature looks legit?

I have doubts.

Steve here is my one and only for you.

Love it.

Steve, Thanks for taking a look.

Donald, I do not believe this is authentic. Sorry.

Giselle, it’s not a slam dunk, but I am leaning ok on the signed ASM comic.

Giselle. The photo in the iron man is too small for a definitive opinion, but no obvious problems from what I can see.
