Is this an authentic Greta Garbo autograph? It looks rather atypical to me also for the lengthy inscription but it does have a vintage feel. I am not a Garbo expert, but someone here must be.

I'd agree with michelle. I can't see it well, but it looks to be a proxy of some sort autographing the photo on behalf of her.
I actually posted the image below earlier on our Classic Hollywood autograph group but I'll share here as well as it may help for comparison. This is the early (mid/late 1920s) style of Garbo's signature. It's a small calendar page and she is signing her name on her actual birth date of Sept. 18.
Hi Sam, as you know from my earlier message, I am also skeptical because of the handwriting and the wording. Now I see what the estimate was I'm doubly sure that this can't be right, If the auction was on a world-wide platform like Invaluable and the lot couldn't raise a bid of $1,000 the market must be in agreement that it isn't real.
