My sentiments entirely.

In my view auction houses should have a duty of care to buyers but unless you can provide evidence that they are knowingly selling fakes (of any kind), particularly in collusion with known fakers, I don't know how any legal action can be taken against them. Even if such evidence were to be available, I'm far from sure that legal action could be taken where the auctioneer states "buyers beware" so clearly in the lot particulars.

The best thing we can hope for is that as many people as possible stay away from such auction houses and they cannot attract genuine consignors as a result. I certainly never look at any autographed items offered by this particular auction house.

The calendar does not look real to me. The George Michael and Elton John signatures are stand out fakes to me!

Adam Patridge is a  total s...t.  He appears on UK auction houses over here, is seen as a expert and must be quite aware he is selling a load of rubbish.  I am surprised that the other uk antique delalers are happy to work with him on antiques programmes.

This.

Thomas Forrester doesn’t have the best reputation, either.  He at least sells some legit stuff, but you have to be very careful, as there is little quality control on his side.  I’ve heard a few horror stories of dreadful customer service when things have gone wrong.

Thank you, Richard!

And thanks to each and everybody for their honest opinion on this auction.
