Interesting Abbott and Costello "autographs" from eBay's PENGANG

I spotted this Abbott and Costello listing on eBay.  It's a vintage copy of the gala program for the inauguration of President Truman in 1949.   PENGANG on eBay says it is  "autographed by presenters Bud Abbott and Lou Costello".

They kind of look like the signatures of Bud and Lou.  But they also look rather "off" to me as well the more I look at them.  Certainly atypical characteristics.  That ink looks odd as well in being uniformly black and quite solid throughout.

I saw the listing that PENGANG purchased this Truman program on (see first image).  It was offered several times on eBay with no takers but PENGANG eventually bought it for $115.  He has it now at a starting bid on his own auction for $899.99 or Buy It Now for $1169.99 (see second image).

Are these potentially rushed?  Or just plain bad? I'm going with the latter at the moment but look forward to opinions of others.

Forgery.

They don't look rushed at all to me based on the clarity and evenness of the writing.  So, that isn't an excuse for them being off.

The original listing mentions other signatures - I wonder if they're all forgeries.

Here's one of the other signatures.  Looks more like it was actually penned in '49.

That has an appearance of being natural although I have no idea what his signature looks like.  I would say someone found a legitimate signed booklet with perhaps genuine lesser knowns then added Abbott and Costello.

Yes, I'd agree.  Sadly that seems to be the case - likely a vintage souvenir with legitimate "lesser" signatures that someone felt a need to embellish.

I think indeed that's what we're looking at....
