It was funny watching the "autographs 101" site on facebook. Actually got minute by minute election results from there. Early on in the evening, Tuesday, the prices for Hillary were high and people were trying to dump the Trump items. Someone even posted a reply to a Trump/Pence signed ball, it would be good for a "dog chew toy." As it became later in the night, the Hillary prices were dropping and the Trump's getting higher.
I do worry about the (most likely) secretarial Trump ttms of the past finding their way on to ebay. Trump has a few styles. We see the scribble with lines in-person and a much neat signature on books sold through various companies. I've gotten ttms with two different signatures. I think the one that is possibly real is the one that forms the D in his his first name while the one I'm certain is secretarial is where the signer tries to mimic that triangle type shape of D he does in-person.
I think the election probably saw a surge in price but they will come down. He's signed like a mad man. It was like every day, on the facebook 101 site, you'd see multiple people with successes in-person that day.
I was on there. I still feel bad,I told one guy to get rid of his Trump stuff because Hillary had the electorals wrapped up. I hope he didn't listen to me!
LOL. Don't feel too bad. A lot of us were telling people to dump the Trump autos even a few months ago. I wonder how the people who did sell or keep their particular autos feel.
I feel good. Just wish I picked up more!
Can you share a pic of the suspected secretary style?
Here are the Trump ttms. Possible all are sec.
The 8x10 photo and TV guide do resemble signed book (he sells through companies) and signatures you see on things he posts (like the letter to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar).
The book cover is one that doesn't resemble any authentics, IMO. The TV Guide and book cover, you can kind of make out "Donald" which I don't think he is really known for.
Who knows...I just remember back in the 2000s, all the in-person signatures I saw posted online (and all the in-persons recently) do not really match the ttms.
What is most confusing is that the signed books (people purchases as authentic, not counting the autopens), do resemble the TV guide and 8x10 photo. The real, neater signed book autos it seems he makes a "real" D in his first name. The IPs always seem to have a strange triangle as the "D" and the book cover seems to be a secretarial mimicking a small triangular "D"
Thnaks, Jason. This is very helpful. While it's not a signature I have studied intensely, I agree that these appear to be off.
Sigs from the last few years seem to be the most obvious secretarials. He went from being collected as a famous businessman's autograph to a TV reality show celebrity. The autograph ttm sites went from a few guys sending for his autograph (early 2000s when I started) to mid 2000s everyone was sending for his autograph and the autographs were coming quickly.
While I'm not confident in all (or any) of my ttms, it's still pretty strange he has two different signature styles and both recent.
