Purchased this for $275 off of eBay. It has a Fine Art Wholesalers, Inc. certificate of authenticity. I was wondering if this is fake or real

I certainly can, but I am online and you may not believe me.  As mentioned previously, go to the link provided and read the information by Chris Williams.  This will provide you with the information that you are seeking, and you will begin to see that a little knowledge in this area will prove very beneficial.  Due diligence.

I am aware of this. It generally talks about a Florida authenticator making fakes. Doesn't mention the authenticator on my piece, it mainly shows Showtime Memorabilia and All Sport Authentics.  So i was wondering about the specifics on my piece and a direct proof showing it as fraud. The person I am with is not accepting the article as proof.

If the person unwilling to accept the article is also the seller, it's because they are likely well aware of what they sold. Of course they will be difficult.

These are all common fake styles produced in great quantity. No reputable authenticator will pass them.

Get a refund asap and if the seller gives you a hard time, file a complaint that the item is not as described, that is, authentic. Don't play games with the seller. eBay will side with you.

the authenticator is irrelevant.  Anyone that forges an item can forge a COA.  The signatures speak for themselves.  If your friend bought this on ebay, just go through the proper procedures to get a refund.  Ebay will side with him on this.  If you friend wants to continue to believe its real, then he is in la la land.

The original source of this style is Tony Podsada. He was kicked out of the National Sports Convention for selling similar ones and later arrested and charged with forgery and other things.

Sam,

Members here have given you valuable opinions and solid information. The rest is up to you.

I am 100% certain it's fake. My friend (the buyer) believes it's real and wants concrete evidence disputing his specific authenticator.

You’ve done all you could. The rest is up to him.

Tell them to try offering it to any respected dealer or auction house and it'll be evident quickly as to what respected parties, who are in the business of making money on pieces like this, think of it.
