Has anyone ever seen a Steiner certified "Official League Ball"???  Here is the link:

Not only is this a pathetic attempt at a Jeter signature, it is made worse with the "Steiner" sticker on an unofficial ball.

must have been removed.  Because the link you left brings you straight to the picture you posted.

What a scumbag Ebay seller!!!

Yes, I'm a scumbag because I purchased an item from a very reputable auction house, accompanied by all the paperwork. Alright there.

Here is the link.  Another Ebay seller (Thinker5n1l) low-life.

Click on the below image to get a closer view of the Derek Jeter forgery on a baseball auction listed by Ebay seller Thinker5n1l.

A few months back that EXACT ball didn't have a Steiner hologram. Looks like someone had a bright idea.

That is my ball. I purchased it at an icollectors.com auction a few months ago. I can provide you with proof if you'd like. What exactly makes you say that's not a real signature?

I've ended the auction while the validity of the item is in question. I've also emailed icollectors.com about the transaction, and will try to get my money back form the seller, however I may need more evidence about this being a forgery than "some guy on the internet thinks so". Can you tell me something more concrete?

Dan,  I would suggest that you visit the Steiner site and view the Jeter items that he has, and compare.  I believe you were scammed.  Someone placed the Steiner sticker on that ball, in order to mislead and disguise the fake signature.  You will see Steiner certs on Official Major League baseballs, not these inexpensive knock offs like this one.  There is a huge difference.  So the signature itself is the first sign of course, but having it on a non-official Major league baseball is the other flag.  as for evidence, you could contact Steiner and have them confirm for you. I just looked up Premier Sports Collectibles.

Take a look a the Ruth ball, Jeter bat, and some of the Mantles and you can draw conclusions from there.

This is all pretty shocking I must say. I expected icollector.com to have some sort of standard for who they let sell on their website. I'm not a huge sports memorabilia collectors, I tend to collect mostly screen used movie memorabilia. In fact I bought this ball as a gift for someone while waiting for another auction on icollectors.com to start, but ended up giving them something else instead (boy am I happy I didn't give this as a gift) so I know nothing about Jeter or baseball in generally actually. So when I listed this item and then had someone email me with a link to this site almost an hour later, I was pretty horrified. I will attempt to email/call them but I have a feeling that wont do much so I'll just try to go directly to my CC company. Thanks for the heads up!

Good luck Dan. let us know how you do.
