Hi all, i was recommended to come here via Facebook, hope I'm posting in the right area!

I picked up a load of vinyl a while ago that included a Jimi Hendrix axis bold of as love first pressing. I played it and didn't pay much attention but have just noticed that it seems to have been signed by the three members on the inside gatefold.

The consensus online so far is that the signatures are legitimate . Any advice or debunking welcomed. I've already been in touch with some auction houses and will be picking one soon.

No have reason to have a coa... Put the item in RR Auction Marvel of modern music.

Thats an option with the kind of money were talking about

Other things to consider £30/40k dropping into your bank account from an auction house especially from abroad with a conversion of currency will be flagged up and noted by your bank and a letter will be sent to yourself and Hmrc who will want his cut ,depending on your occupation and earnings (self employed it will definately flag up)  but anything sold for over £6000 usually does these days even if from your own collection if this was bought recently they would by right have a case for 20%,despite the saying, not all publicity is good publicity

take all advice ,think it through and good luck

You would make sure you had an agreement with the auction house or dealer you consigned it to that they take possession from you in the UK and be responsible for loss or damage. That's commonly how it's done.

In the US, the auction house or dealer will have it authenticated by the TPA. You won’t have to worry about that.

Use Fedex or DHL

I believe Tracks UK owned the other signed Axis and chose to consign it to RR Auction. A fully-signed Doors LP did really well there recently.

ah, ballrooms encyclopedic memory to the rescue again

I'm sending a newsletter to members Wednesday and your album will headline. We opened Autograph Live in 2009, and this is the first newly discovered genuine band-signed Hendrix album posted. It's big news.

In the UK, I recommend talking to Tracks in Chorley (Tracks.co.uk), and if you're considering Bonham's, Sotheby's and Christie's.

Tracks is one of the most respected classic rock dealers in the world, and they've earned every penny of that respect.

Sotheby's and Christie's are both more active in modern music than Bonhams, both in the UK and the US.

BTW, if the owner of an auction house you're considering prefers to sell their own best stuff elsewhere would you want to know that?

Thanks, that can only help with any future sale. I'll keep people updated with my plans when i can.

I know i keep saying it but this forum has been a genuine help, so thank you, and i hope it's brought a small amount of the excitement I've felt over the past couple of weeks.

From reading the forum i think I've seen that Tracks sell via RR or have in the past, which may be what you are referring to, but I'm happy to receive as much information as possible.

I'm pretty happy with where i am up to. I've had lots of interest and offers, all of which are very similar so i feel happy with the decision i am going to take.

One way or another I'm hoping the sale with mean my son has a good first birthday and my family will have a nice summer holiday for my 40th.

Feeling very lucky at the moment but don't want to count my chickens before they hatch...

If its going to auction please let us know who with ,If you are at all considering selling at a fixed price to a dealer then please give the Hendrix collectors here a chance, you might be surprised

It will definitely be auction as I'm not comfortable dealing with such large sums of money privately. Even if it costs me some money, i would rather not be stressed out or get scammed.

Thank you for your interest though and I'll certainly be shouting when i know it's in an auction!
