JSA Authenticated Beatles “Signed” Album Page. How Could This Happen?

Is this not a Joe Long forgery? It’s currently on eBay at a starting bid of $25,000.

It was relisted a few times and didn’t sell, so it was started at a low price this time around.

Someone is going to be out ALOT of money after the auction is over. Many people will trust that JSA knows what it's doing.

Yes, I doubt that it will get pulled considering the LOA, but you never know. The seller added this to the auction description this time:

The full letter from James Spence is included. JSA is one of the 2 leading authenticators recognized internationally as being the most trusted name in autograph authentication (the other being PSA),.

Almost 5 grand now with 5 days left to bid. Remember the old days when you could contact bidders on eBay to warn them of fakes?

Ouch. Well, all they have to do is Google the JSA cert #. One bidder apparently figured it out and canceled their bid. I’m sure that many collectors couldn’t even imagine that JSA could get a full set wrong.

What happens if they Google the JSA cert number?  Are you saying the JSA cert is fake?  Why did one bidder cancel their bid?

The JSA cert is real. I included the cert # in the keywords so if you Google it, this discussion will be the first thing that comes up.

I’m not entirely sure why the bid was canceled, but I would imagine that the bidder discovered that it’s a Joe Long set.

I remember those days, Bruce, until Ebay put a stop to it.

As of April 25, 2023...2:12 pm east coast time...the Joe Long set has 40 bidders...and it's up to $5,200 US. It closes on Saturday...(April 29) ...at 9 pm Eastern time.

Have you seen any other full sets with an LOA that was issued in recent years by a reputable TPA? I’ve seen individual ones that were authenticated, but not a full set.

Took in my set to JSA when they came to town for a collectibles show in the fall, and they told me they thought it was good but they needed to have it reviewed at HQ. From the notes written on the claim check once I got my LOA, it seems they waited for Frank C's opinion before issuing the thumbs up. Took a few months.

Single-signed items they were able to give me the thumbs up on the same day.

I'm guessing they were fooled by the eye appeal on the OP set and didn't bother on extra opinions... also the item was not removed from the frame for examination either as seen in the LOA photo.

That’s very surprising. I’ve never heard that Frank has anything to do with JSA.
