Heritage has had a hit or miss track record recently (as they "missed" on a Beatles "Help" LP signed by 3).

Any thoughts on this one?  (Supposedly from the '75 WFIL Philly signing)

You're right. They are still being made today.

No doubt all the "old hands" have seen this page but it goes to show just how varied John's signature was. The fourth item shown is pretty close to the example that was being discussed at the start of this thread, though RR/Roger give the date as 76 rather than 75.

Here is a pic of the 76 item:

For personal reasons, does anyone know of other very "pointy" examples (thanks Jim) like the fifth item shown (extract pictured below):

This looks to be from a copy of Yoko's book,"Grapefruit" signed at  Selfridges in Britain in July 1971...

Every signature on that Revolver album are done at the same precise angle. What are the odds of 4 individual signors doing that, unless in list like formation?

We need a signature study of Lennon's 1970s-1980 autographs. Go back as far as possible in auction catalogs, dealer sales, etc., and see if some styles suddenly appear that hadn't been seen before.

Who would like to participate in the study?

Who is interested in leading it? I'd prefer that person be a long-time member of Autograph Live, at least 3 years, and you've gotta have passion for the study, enough time, and good organization skills.

I won't be involved for the most part.

I'd be happy to participate but I wouldn't have the knowledge or time to lead.

I think it would be best if the leader already has a great database of exemplars and has actually handled later Lennons that are accepted to be genuine.

Personally, I find it amazing how varied his signature was after 1970 and am curious to know why it developed as it did. You cannot say that his signature got looser and less defined because he was having to sign more - quite the opposite.

Good idea, Steve. I will participate in the study.

I'm glad to hear that, Ballroom. Thank you.

Don't know if this helps at all, but here is the signed Imagine album I acquired in person in 1980 and posted on this forum three years ago.
