Let's play you be the authenticator. Paul McCartney.

It's a thankless job being an authenticator. They provide an important service and have become quite influential in the hobby. But sometimes their professional opinions baffle me. Most of all, their final decisions can greatly determine the market value of any given autograph. Like getting a blessing from the Pope.

Here are two examples of a Paul McCartney signature. One passed authentication and the other did not. Same company. Different result. I'm old and my eye sight is as good as it used to be. Can you see a significant different between the two signatures?

Thanks for chiming in Marc. You have my FULL vote of confidence. I didn't want to reveal your name.

As I said earlier, this is not trying to bad mouth TPA services. With that said, I would expect a PROFESSIONAL to be able to make the right call. They should know as much or more that even a seasoned collector. Isn't that why the majority of collectors covet their paid opinions so much?

I don’t doubt that yours is authentic, Joe, but I think the Beckett example is a much easier call with strong authentic traits throughout.

I like your one Joe.  I think it has charm

Thanks, Michelle. I am at peace with owning this one.

Thanks, Mark. I respect your opinion. I've known the source for awhile and never seen him misrepresent himself. That's more of a stretch in my mind.

its real the ticket is real

I like the signed ticket Joe!

Thanks, Richard. I do too! I am eventually going to create a nice matted piece with this signature.

Thank-you terrier for your honest (although deleted) input. I appreciate it. I respect your opinion.

Hi Joe, I deleted it because I didnt have the whole scope of the conversations and was just looking at the autographs on face value.  The first one is strange, because I feel parts of it look fine but others are a train wreck.

I can understand why TPA's would fail the second one, because it is unique, was signed under unique circumstances but in the end, it makes it more desirable.

Anything signed by a Beatle is highly desirable and collectable.  Congratulations!

Agree with Tony. I would avoid the first - better out there at any rate.

Thank-you, Tony! I always appreciate your honesty. It is my favorite autograph by far. It's unfortunate that the TPA services are shy of it but it is a real as it gets in my mind. And I think it is a rare find indeed.
