Here's another example from Bookends, priced at $70.

This is what Liza herself said. In a September 2025 Instagram post, Minnelli stated, "I'm already starting to sign, and for the uninformed, I don't use auto-pen"...

So are you switiching your stance michelle

and now not returning yours?

and now opining that the Liza's are legit?

JJ

nope.  am returning mine.  there is something fishy going on imo.  how can so many sigs be peachy perfect all signed by an 80 year old?  it was also quite difficult to get waterstones online  agree to a refund bearing in mind they say  the books are handsigned by her and not by a secretary etc

FWIW (very little), both Art Carney's (b. 1918) and Joyce Randolph's (b. 1924) signature started to deteriorate after age 80 or so. Carney's became simplified but the same, and Randolph's became "messier" and larger, but still an attempt at the same form. By 2010 very hectic in execution.

Signed for me at a NYC in store-event early 2000s

Thanks for the additional examples. I'll try to do some overlaying with those vs the other examples l've accumulated. Appreciate the input as well from Eric, that was my thought too. We were wondering what you thought of these so far.

I'm trying to figure out how to best post videos, and I'm going to repost this one here. I just realized it's buried back on page 3 in my response to Allginger. This is Allginger's overlaid with one of Tobysautographs. Again, focus only on the "Liza." While not 100% exact, it's very close and I just don’t see how it’s possible if by hand.

Wow! Awesome work  Matt M !!!

These are NOT looking good are they?

I mean those Liza's fit perfectly right over top of one another, and even

the dots and letter "a" seem to click in/snap in/ fit perfectly in your example .

The smiley face is just a slight variation.

Perhaps they've employed a hybrid autopen that can shift a little and use varying templates for different parts of the "signature"?

ugh,

JJ

Thanks JJ, I’m not sure what to make of it but seems suspicious at this point. I’m still working on it but going to take a break for a bit and get back to it this evening. FWIW, many of the examples that I have randomly overlaid do not match although they show similarities (which I would expect to find for someone who commonly signs their name and is signing a ton in this situation)…some of the loops overlay nicely here and there, but I don’t think that’s enough to worry about. But the example above appears to overlay at multiple points. I’m still working with the two examples from Stonefacejr as well but not finding multiple points of overlay yet.

Hey  Matt M. and  Jason H .

This whole Liza autopen debate has really caught wind on Facebook

and other sites now.

Here is a sample page of a Facebooker I saw that is doing what we did when we

got "Dylan"ed.
