My new Prince signed "Purple Rain" 12" Maxi Single from 1984

I had never seen these before. It's a 12-inch (album size) "Purple Rain" single on side 1 with "God" on side 2. The album is purple! These were released in 1984, I believe.

The cover is titled "Prince and the Revolution" and below that "Purple Rain". Prince signed it in purple, "Love Prince". I think both the "Love" and "Prince" look pretty good.

I have pics below.

I'm pretty excited. It's got the full Prince autograph, plus it's signed in purple on a "Purple Rain" 12-inch titled "Prince and the Revolution" from 1984.

Hi James,

Yes, I agree. I Have NEVER claimed to be good at "the maths", but it seems to me that 1% of $1,500 is...$15? Hmm.  I have often paid Roger for his opinion - it is something...I respect and value.

Eric.

Here's the thing. The only two quick opinions I'm familiar with are PSA and Roger Epperson. I tend to trust Roger's opinion on music items.

Regarding PSA's Quiock Opinion service, we've had these conversations before. In my opinion, a PSA QO is worthless. On two occasions, on two different items, I got back "Likely Not Genuine". It turned out both were very much genuine. With PSA's QO, you have no clue who the heck is looking at the item. It could be some college intern. Who knows, and they tend to error on the side of caution. Twice I ignored their QO, and I'm glad I did. I've heard others say the same about PSA's QO.

So some of those people may have been scared off by a wrong QO from PSA. PSA has messed up potential sales for many legit sellers.

Now with Roger, he's good, and you know who's looking at it.
I agree, there pretty sh##. Rogers heaps better.
Did you get an opinion of Roger yesterday James?
I think it is close, but I'm concerned about it. The shape of the L and the shape of the P aren't what I'm used to, and how often did he sign Love w/o God?
They were my concerns as well, i was going to ask if you seen any examplars where the p is across the signature like that?
The shape of the P is what concerns me. And the L is too upright to me. But keep in mind, I've only seriously been looking at Prince autographs since he died. I don't have a fraction of the experience that Epperson and others do.

Same - loops/P/L/ but don't know. Cold steely logic certainly suggests a fake, 6 days up and at such value if genuine, but one never knows.

Eric

I strongly suggest to get Roger involved here.
I'm no expert but I don't feel good about this item.
It would be alright if Roger was still around to give an opinion once in a while.
Sure would...but I kinda understand why he prefers not to anymore.
James should just contact Roger and pay $15 for his Quick Opinion.

I have never seen an authentic "Love Prince" before.  (Either he has signed "Love God Prince" or just "Prince" (and sometimes his first initial and also his symbol).
