My Prince has (almost) arrived! What do you think?

Well, it took me a few attempts, but I finally got what I feel very confident is an authentic Prince autograph. Right now on eBay, there are maybe two or three real Prince autographs and probably close to one hundred fakes.

The one that I have just purchased was obtained on April 16, 1988 on a Northwest Airlines flight from Minnesota to New York. The woman who got the autograph was a flight attendant on Prince's flight. Since she was the one serving him, she asked him for an autograph. He signed the flight manifest, "'Love God' - P+"

It appears, from the few I've seen that Prince was often signing things this way in 1988.

I lost out on an auction for a Prince concert signed ticket stub that he had signed, "To Dawn - Love Prince" in 1979. On that one, he signed his entire first name.

But I'm still happy with this one. Plus, it's kind of cool that you can see his name on the flight manifest, "Nelson, Mr. P"

So what do you think? Does it look good to you? There are pics below.

Thanks for your comments.

This autograph looks authentic to me. Congratulations on a real rare autograph.

I just bought one signed lp from 1988 that almost looks the same.
Thanks, Bjarne. And congratulations to you too. Yes, there is no about the overall rarity of Prince autographs. I am a bit surprised actually that more real ones have not come up for sale on eBay. Although, I suppose there are not all that many people who want to part with one if they have a real one.

It looks real to me, too, but Prince is so rare, I'd get an opinion from Roger Epperson.

Thanks, Steve. I may have Roger look at it. I would trust his opinion on this more than any other TPA. I never had really quite understood just how few real Prince autographs are out there - or at least that come up for sale.
That's real.
Thanks for your input, Xwiesy. I think so too.

Looks real. I noticed the seller ended the auction early. What did it sell for if you don't mind saying?

I think overall I got a pretty good price. I'll send you a PM and you can tell me what you think.
Here is one I wish I could have gotten. It's a signed copy of "Purple Rain".

Thats different a flight manifest.
Where did you get it from?

Here's an interesting article about one of the makeup artists for the "Purple Rain" movie (click here), especially this quote:

"He didn't want to sign anything or do autographs," Wenzel said. "My feeling was that he felt if he gave autographs or memorabilia or photos, he'd lose part of himself."
