Alright I was in a card store today and asked the guy if he had any autographed items. He then led me over and pulled out two Mickey Mantle photos. Both photos have a hologram with number that looks like it came from the same authenticity company. However the "secondary" mantle photo has the hologram AND taped on the back is the COA.
On the main photo, only the hologram is on the front.
The store owner was up front and honest. He said that he was not sure about the company and did not know if the signature was authentic or not. He said that the company used to be reliable but in the later years they went "rogue" and lost their credibility. Who knows?
First do you all know anything about the Autograph Legends LLC company?
Second, is the signature authentic?

what is this another forgery? the same as the one I posted?
Same garbage.
A actually own some of that stuff. I know exactly what it is. I purchased quite a few items (for examination purposes) when they were still cheap (AlwaysAtAuction.com, now AtAuction.com).
The ones I own come with COAs from Chris Morales, Nicholas Burczyk, Ted Taylor and Drew Max.
Tyler,
The members are right. This is absolutely fake, and every one we've seen has been printed on an inkjet photo, and the signature has been signed by computer; not a human.
signed by a computer? thats the first I have ever heard of that.. what do you mean? Is it printed on the photo or does a machine write with a sharpie?
Tyler, they are not penned.
Like I wrote previously, I purchased over a dozen of these for examination purposes years ago because I wanted them in my hand to confirm what I already knew.
These are not penned.
The one you see below comes with a COA from Chris Morales who is deservedly on Ebay's Banned COA list. On the back of the photo it reads (Examined & Verified, Nicholas Burczyk, 04/23/92). It also reads "YMC Certified Authentic (YMC Sports)."
Nicholas Burczyk never examined any Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams & Joe DiMaggio autographs.
Chris Morales started "authenticating (cough, cough)" for AlwaysAtAuction.com (now AtAuction.com). Chris Morales then changed his COA to a generic COA. He only used his generic COA for AlwaysAtAuction.com.
Why did Chris Morales use a generic COA for AlwaysAtAuction.com? Duh!!!
The "autograph" on the below "Ted Williams" cannot be removed with a blow torch. It's all part of a "production process."
Read the COA from Chris Morales!!! Freakin' bad joke!!! Chris Morales belongs on Ebay's banned COA list and more!!!!!
Unreal! I had no idea this entire time. See I asked you all about all of the mickey, ted, joe, etc. autos all being of blue sharpie. I had no idea that you could reprint this sig with the ink looking like it was written by a sharpie?? WOW.
So thats why all of the forgeries from the same group look the same on flats... WHAT about baseballs though. How did they reproduce so many fakes on balls and keep them looking about the same? Did someone hand sign all of the fake mickey baseballs to make it look like the typical morales fake or is this the reason almost all of the fakes are on photos?
Tyler, some of us have been aware of this for a long, long time.
By the way, why did you think all of the Mantle, DiMaggio and Williams autographs being sold over at AtAuction.com (certed by Steve Rocchi) are framed?
I never thought about it really. I just thought so people would have a ready to hang item, and the seller could inflate sales price by having it already framed>
Why do you think the below Mantle forgery is framed?
All of the forgeries they sell are framed.

If you look at enough of them, you can tell there are a handful of first name patterns and and last name patterns, and they mix and match. Also, they are using some sort of software to slightly distort the main patterns to give them a slightly different look... but you can tell it is just the same signature with part of it "pulled" or "pushed."
