Has anyone ever heard of an authentication company called “Ohio Sports Authentics?” There is a seller on Mercari who sells autographed sports memorabilia and every item is ostensibly authenticated by “Ohio Sports Authentics.” I can find nothing about them on the internet. Anyone?

Mercari is the first warning sign. This is the cesspool where many eBay fake sellers land after being expelled from bowels of eBay.

A COA is only as valuable as the people behind it. A COA from an unknown entity has no value. The items could be good, could be bad... no way to know based on the [non] reputation of "Ohio Sports Authentics." You will need to share some signatures to get opinions.

Given they are on Mercari and accompanied by a no name COA, my money is on they are all fakes, but there's only one way to know... share the items.

Thanks, Steve, I greatly appreciate it. I’m learning more every time I log in. I absolutely agree with your comments in re Mercari. There is one particular seller I’m referring too. Let me go back and get the name.

Hi, Steve, I took some screenshots of this seller’s Mercari listings. Keep in mind I’m a low-tech guy, but now I’m going to try to upload those screenshots. The example I chose was an Aaron Rodgers card. I also looked through the seller’s items, picked some at random, and noticed that each and every item has a COA from the same place “Ohio Sports Authentics.”

Regrettably not a signature I am familiar with. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

I’ve searched for this company and keep coming up with something that is close (“Ohio State Authentication,” which appears to deal exclusively with items signed by individuals who once played at Ohio State University. Maybe this seller has chosen a name that’s close to a legitimate one). Yes, hopefully someone else has heard of this outfit. Thanks, Steve, for the help. Incidentally, are there any autos you are really familiar with?

I am a professional authenticator who specializes in autographs of astronauts, cosmonauts and aviation. I also collect certain vintage entertainment, presidential, NY Yankees and baseball HOFers. I don't collect or pay attention to most modern sports or entertainment, so I am not familiar.

Everything about this stinks. I wouldn't really give it much consideration.

Thanks, Rich. My wife and I are here to learn so I greatly appreciate any and all comments or advice.

Can you post a direct link to their website.

Ok, I’ll try. You’re dealing with a very low-tech person here, I’m shamed to admit, but I’ll try to do just that. Thanks.
