We've discussed this one before. Many of the best McCartney members here have given their respected opinions. Although the opinions have been equally divided. I desire to offer this at an attractive price or trade for something else that would fit my needs. I believe this was signed by Paul but is a bit different than usual. I'll let your opinions, especially Steve's, be the final word.

Should this one be allowed to be posted in the Buy, Sell, Trade board?

They're not bumps if you're talking about the tiny areas. They're skips from areas in the felt tip where that section didn't touch the paper. They're not moving top/bottom or left/right.

What about those wispy strokes flying off at odd areas?

No the "odd bumps" aren't bumps. They're skips at the edge of the marker tip.

Hi Steve,

not bumps (I think I chose the wrong word "bumps"), but the wispy strokes flying off. What are these? What causes them? The bottom one is at a right angle to the stroke.

Eric,

These are with a regular Sharpie on a slick plastic page, but the photo has a slick finish, too, so there will be a lot of similarities:

It's scanned at 300 DPI so it's plenty big to inspect closely.

I'll agree to disagree. For me there are too many oddities. Many with good eyes I have spoken to see "shakiness", "Much hesitation" and all the rest.

No matter.

Happy New Year! :)

Here's the one from the OP together with a couple of examples that I thought would be good for comparison. What do you think?

what is strange is that technically, they all seem to be good, but when I isolate them individually, the other two are still fine, but the middle one seems stiff, or lacking something.  Very difficult call.

For what it's worth I'd give a no vote. It just seems slow and hesitant, particularly the "P" and the peak in the "n". He seems to have paused during the "l". If a forgery it is very good. Perhaps traced.

As a reminder, we have a story of provenance from the member who sold it...

It was signed 25th July 2013 in the main rehearsal room. It was signed for a family friend and ex LIPA student and bought by me last year. He didn’t sign many and he only signed for her because she lived off Menlove Avenue she made him laugh..... I have absolutely no reason to doubt her and her provenance. OK I didn’t actually see it being signed but I saw I picture of it an hour after it was signed and I chased her for it since.

I find it very unlikely that a LIPA student produced or obtained what I would consider to be an exceptionally good Macca forgery, showed it to a friend on a day that Macca attended a LIPA event, claimed that it was signed IP that day, and then sold it to that friend 3.5+ years later. So, was the story fabricated?

also would he have found the mention of Menlove Avenue amusing as it related to another Beatle and took the spotlight off him?  Just a thought......
