This is a signed program from the play, "Speed the Plow" which Madonna performed in in 1988 in New York. The person who claims to have acquired the autograph said that he attended a performance in 1988 and that Prince also attended the performance, likely to see his friend Madonna perform, and that Prince was seated directly in front of him. He said he asked Prince for his autograph, and Prince obliged.
Even though it is now being offered on eBay for $1799.99 by a seller in Germany, it was originally for sale on eBay several months ago by the guy who originally acquired the autograph. I was tempted to bid on it, but I wasn't 100% sure, and then I found something else. It originally sold for only about $200. But that was when there was so much confusion as to what was real and what was fake.
Even though the P looks a bit off to me, I lean toward it being authentic. I try to imagine Prince being handed a program with nothing to back it while signing in close quarters which could account for the P being a little off.
What do you think? Is it real?
