We can debate whether they are worthless or not, but they are not going anywhere.  Not long ago I sold an item after supporting the desire of a potential buyer to submit it for a QO before making a commitment.  The resulting opinion helped to reassure the buyer.  All good, I suppose.

Did people carry around these kind of pens way back then? You don't see many felt pen - if that is what it is - autographs from this time.

I don't  know about the actual signature but the patina of the ticket and age of the signature don't quite match up i.m.h.o.

Interesting.  I had a different feeling about the signature.  To me it looks like it does have some natural age and has been there enduring the same wear and tear over the decades as the card it's written on (little flicks of paper loss on the dark printed letters that are lost on the signature as well).  The ink looks like it's dried out some over time.

That "s" is a bit atypical imo, however.  I'm not an expert with Brian, butI think there's some things to like about it....although I wouldn't go to the mat on it necessarily.

How's the source it's coming from?

I find the "s" and the redone "J" problematic

I completely agree.

Not quite as concerned with the "J" as he sometimes did wonky things with that letter.  He wasn't always in the best of shape to be doing much that took concentration...including writing, I'd assume.

I find it interesting at least.  I'd like to know if there's any provenance (maybe I missed that on the other thread?).

What are you looking at as being the “S”? I think the loop at the end was supposed to cross the “J”, but it’s really rushed. It looks like the line through the bottom portion of the “J” is an underline.

Good catch....I can certainly see what you are pointing out and that helps give a better perspective.

btw.....that eBay number provided is dead.   I was curious to see what the seller's other offerings look like but not able to find the listing.

Here’s the letter of provenance:

Thanks!
