Real Or Fake: Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" Signed by All 4?

Just saw this on eBay.

Very unusual to have a genuine signed LP by all 4 members. Says it was obtained at Syd Barrett memorial concert in 2007. No COAs.

What do you guys think?

David signed this for me in 1984.

Very very cool. Much respect here - HUGE gilmour fan. I only have one album that I'm unsure of its authenticity signed. Perhaps I will uploaded it later to get an opinion.

Still, after seeing yours (100% real benchmarks to go by) and seeing many poor attempts at replicating them, this guy seems like he might be legitimate: compare your Wright and Gilmour signatures for example... the basic elements look like they're there no?

Hey There,

These signatures, especially the Roger Waters are not even close, I mean not even close, to anything I have by these guys.  I have been able to get Roger's signature about 8-9 times since 1987, on over 30 items, and none of my signatures resemble these.  I am afraid you may have been bamboozled.  See for yourself:

MARK PETERSON, those two Gilmours you have look REAL good.  And if you got him yourself, well, then enough said.  Gilmour does not accept or "understand" (as he says so on his website) the entire autograph desire, and therefore basically wants no real part of it, at any level.  Does he still sign, yes there are legit stories of some of his ON AN ISLAND cd's being signed on that tour, especially in the UK for promotional purposes, but they were mostly industry or employee type of stories.  I talked to several of the crew members after his Nokia Theater show and they flat out told me he simply aint signing for anybody.
David signed for EVERYONE in our group waiting outside before the l.a. show except me,he signed the new release for all 9 waiting and refused my lp, I was the only one rejected but also the only one with old material!Im still sick over it.After the show, still not having his new release on cd,I had a different idea, maybe he will sign the set list from the stage floor that he refered to during the show that I had just acquired? Its new material related, even though I did not buy it!Well, he signed for everyone again in our group waiting outside except for me!If only I had been prepared with the new release!I felt terrible to be rejected twice, and most of everyone in the group were friends of mine!Im sure he remembered me and It was hard to not take it personally after the 2nd rejection! They were all celebrating.......If David had only known I flew thousands of miles to attend that show while most of my friends waiting either walked over or took a cab, maybe he would have considered me a favor.Ill try again someday!

Sorry for finding humor in the incident in an earlier comment mark. While I'm having growing doubts about my own album "Animals" (given to me as a gift) being legitimately signed, I now see that this can be just as bad if not worse.

I have come to the conclusion that we cannot let these objects impact the enjoyment of their music! That's really the best we can hope for in this world I guess...

Very very nice collection there Mark and Stephen. Well I tried to play devils advocate but how can you argue with those? Learning more and more every day on this site. If ,in fact, that is the case it is truly disgusting that people resort to this in order to make a quick buck.
David, your group got him before, WOW, the group after got a goose egg.
In my opinion this is awful!
Why is this even a discussion? Absolutely not even close - by any stretch of the imagination.
James, because new and less experienced collectors visit this site. Look at the bad forgeries so many end up with.

The Floyd signed album is rubbish, as are the other items the seller has sold on eBay.  The seller is based in the UK, so i can tell you a few things about this kind of rubbish that abounds on eBay.co.uk (take a look!).

First, this seller is in the West Midlands, an area known to us UK dealers as the center of the autograph forging world. The reason is down to one man, who i won't name here right now, but he alone is guilty of supplying tens of thousands of fake items to people over here, many of which then resell them on eBay, and he has done this for at least the last 8 years.

His pitch i simple 'I know all the bands, and here are the phots to prove it'  He has thousands of photos of him with just about ever band you can name, and that is what he concentrates on, getting 'proof' photos, the signatures come second, but if he does get any, thnh uses them as exemplars to copy from.

He then combines this with some great stories of how he knows so and so for such and such band, then he offers you some great signed items at a great price 'no problem i know them well, i can always get some more'

Before you kow it, you are buying the stuff and making a small fortune reselling them on eBay. He limits himself to the West Midlands (Birmigham) because is is basicly lazy, hence why we see so many other sellers offering the same rubbish in the same area.

He has, and still does supply a number of outlets, andthe are normally easily spotted as they will always make the statement that they only buy from a well known collector who has worked in the music business for years. The truth is he probably has not actually worked at all, and is probably collecting benefits, but the photos and his stories prove otherwise!

He is well known amongst the genuine in person collectors, and last year when he turned up at on event, the others all stared calling out 'forger, forger, forger' until he left.

My advice, when looking at any item like this, simply ignore the story (its not provenance, its just a story, northing more) and concentrate your efforts on the signatures alone. Do that and you will see that they don't stand up.

Garry (not based in the West Midlands!)
