This looks awful, I have never seen one quite like this, but yet you all seem to prove me wrong a lot.. So is this as bad as it looks?

Yeah that's fake for sure. Almost looks like a stamped fake too haha.

love the picture next to the ball showing the Real Joe D  sig

laughable

That is one ugly Joe DiMaggio forgery on a baseball listed by Ebay seller Kaynbar.

The seller did the right thing and ended the listing. They put their trust in a shady sports dealer.

The funny part is the "COA" almost looks like a test run for the ball -

"THIS BALL WAS RAFFLED OFF TO RAISE MONEY FOR A TEAM IN MY HOMETOWN. THE DEALER WAS A VERY REPUTABLE SPORTS COLLECTOR IN PINE BLUFF ARKANSAS, DICK LUNSFORD."

Sorry Dick Lunsford, looks like your sterling reputation takes a hit on this one.

I'm a bit confused. Everyone is always saying that eBay doesn't do anything about people selling forgeries, yet just about every time I click on a link here, the eBay listing has disappeared. They must be doing something.
I messaged the seller last night and he responded this morning and said he was sorry and would end the listing which he did.

I wasn't necessarily sticking up for eBay. I guess some times the seller gets messages and decides to remove it himself.

agreed. Some do get taken down but the majority go right on by with-out any fanfare...so much so it's sickening. I think only the most egregious are being highlighted here. So there is some policing, but the policeman has an obvious agenda.

it all depends on how important the seller is to ebay.  it is more difficult to get an item removed from one of the "power sellers" then just the normal schmucks like us.

That is so true, Terrier!!!

I would be for Ebay employing an entire department dedicated to posting and policing autographs.  Such as when you go to post an item and its an autographed item, NOT already authenticated by one of the acceptable third parties or dealers, then it goes through a 24 hour hold while it is looked over by the department. Then if it passes the muster, it can be listed.

Its not perfect but you get my point.
