Is anyone going (or has gone) to Roger Waters Us and Them Tour and gotten autographs? If so, any tips?

I may go to one of the Chicago shows at the United Center, or the St Paul show. Any idea where to look for him or what times? Is it better to check the venue or hotel?

Thanks for any help!

Well said Andrew.  I just always find it comical when someone worth $290 million really cares what people do to make a living. If you collected every item he signed this tour and came up with a retail value of all combined...he could lose that amount in a day and not even notice.  Just saying...

I find it comical that just because Roger's earned lots of money, that he should stop caring about everything else. If some seedy prick was trying to make money off my name instead of doing actual work, I'd be pissed too. You could have a society full of honest, hard-working, decent people, or you could have a society full of opportunistic dirt balls, which would you choose if given the choice? Roger is in the right here IMO.

You clearly didn't read or comprehend what Andrew wrote.  But you're right...Poor Roger ;(

Give me a break. The whole "he's rich, he can deal with it" logic is so f****** backward.

It is backwards thinking! Artist these days sell their used touring equipment, should we say they should give their guitars and amps away for free because their rolling in money.
It's the principal of the issue, the way the hounds act and carry on. Krist novoselic has had enough of them and Krist is a generous guy, like waters.
Agreed.

The whole point in my mind it that they're taking advantage of the situation. Go get yours, bring a friend, get 2... don't go and hire 15 people, and if you do, dont line up to pay your hired help and collect the stuff 5 feet from him in plain sight. At least be discreet if youre going to do that. If you're so worried about your "job" then why would you want to piss off the celebs so you can't make anymore money off them. Roger could be putting signed albums on his website and selling them all day for $200-300 And not even have to tour. But he's generous enough to put up with the b******* for the real fans to get a signature.

From the celebs point of view, I'm sure some care about people making money off their name. It's not much different than selling bootleg cds or t shirts. They did the work to get where they are, and someone else is making money off their name. If that doesn't bother them then I'm sure any human could agree being surrounded by 20 people screaming for autographs and wanting more and more and more would be annoying. Especially knowing the person isn't a fan. So between the disrespect and greed I can see why they don't sign.

Like I said before politely getting a few then leaving the celeb alone would be fine. If the celeb wants to sign 100 then get 100 and leave them alone. Nothing wrong with dealers, but there is something wrong with completely disrespecting someone to try to make money off them.

But it's never going to change, so not much point in beating a dead horse.

Correct. At the end of the day, no matter what Roger is worth financially, it is his personal decision what he does with his time and energy. He could sign one autograph one time, he could sign for a whole line every night, or he could speed past people in his SUV. Whether we like it or not, it's his decision and we have to accept that.

It's pretty difficult to sit back and hold these dealers in high esteem, when all they want to do is profit from artist for absolutely nothing, with no one holding them accountable for their actions. Some of these dealers have made millions of dollars and if you think they give a flying hoot about the artist or the collectors, you're mistaken.

I like that. "For absolutely nothing."

Every person who sells autographs is no longer a human, void of all emotion and compassion. They are incapable of enjoying creative work. Or entertainment. They only know pure greed.

Right Paul?

It must be hard to hold so much hatred inside you.

Truly laughable.

Just people like you justin, who chase these artist down, like you chased Jack white in a car and couldn't get his autograph, after Jack pulled over you decided to smash the guitar in front of him.
All class pal.
I was a solid 300 feet away when I put on that performance for Jack, and that's called Rock & Roll.

Your story is otherwise false though: I wasn't asking for an autograph at all. I was only interested in him because he and Zellwegger were a new Hollywood couple.

Sold the story to Us Weekly, they were pulled over by the cops. He had been recently arrested for assaulting another musician and was forced to go to anger management.

A classy guy, too. Long live Detroit.

It doesnt matter whether these signs are sold for 150 dollars or 500 dollars or 10 dollars - it´s the same issue! He gives them for FREE and doesnt want them to be resold for money. If you cant go and get it personally, fine - try to TRADE it for something else in your collection with other collector. Autograph obtained in person is simply something TOTALLY different than autograph bought through dealers. Autographs shouldnt be like bottle of coke or hamburger in fastfood store, it´s exclusive stuff which should be about contact between star and fan of the star. Dealers completely destroy that. To be honest - I´m starting to be against them at the almost same level as frauders selling fakes because of their impact on real fans.
