Signed cheques

Hi all, just wondering, I have seen many signed cheques over the years, yet the often sell for less than a simple signed card or page? What are our thoughts regarding signed cheques?

I always thought Garbo, Brigette Bardot, and Olivia deHaviland had the most beautiful signatures.

Interestingly, some dealers who bought Garbo checks on the relative cheap are still trying to get near those initial, new-to-the market prices from a decade ago.

I remember - approx 2005-2015 - a bunch of Frank Zappa cheques on the market which were clearly secretarial. A lot of forgers were using it as a template, alas. 

I guess a few people got stung.
