I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998.  Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia.  For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph.  I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998.  My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams.  I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

JASON WINGREEN on overly zealous TTM seekers.  When Mr. Wingreen died out of curiosity I went on eBay to see if there was a large influx of autographs (that often happens). I did not really notice much of a change but came across this handwritten letter.  The letter is classic of a man who in his life showed so much grace and class.  It is obvious that someone sent him a lot of photographs to be signed of the same image.  In order so he could not personalize them they wrote their name so it could not be read.  Typically most actors would have merely sent the images back unsigned but not Mr. Wingreen.  Even though he thinks the photos will be sold he still obliges with one signed photograph and this letter.  Mr. Wingreen apparently returned the others.  He was such a generous and kind signer that is too bad some tried to take advantage of that.  The letter is undated but likely in the last few years of his signing TTM.  I bought the letter because I love his response to the person.

What a class act.

Ironically, the letter may end up worth more than the photos he did not sign. The dishonest requester profited either way.

Hi Steve.  He did not profit a lot I only paid $14.99 with free shipping lol.

I should  say that I am sure the ebay seller bought this as group and was not the person in the letter himself.

Upon learning of Mr. Wingreen's passing, the dishonest requester commented, "He's no good to me dead."

Lol!

Too soon?hehehe

Not if he only watches the Blu-ray Disc.  Then somebody else's voice will be used to replace the dishonest requester's voice.

Jason Wingreen ALS.  Having posted a year ago the above ALS that I bought after his death I thought it would be nice to post this one that he wrote to me.  I had written him a letter about how much I enjoyed him on All in the Family.  I told him there was need for him to respond (I already had a very nice index card) and I knew he was getting on in years.  So I got this big envelope in the mail I hadn't recalled ordering anything so ripped it open to find a great 8x10 b/w photograph of Wingreen and Caroll O'Connor with a wonderful inscription to me along with this letter that I really treasure.  Mr. Wingreen was one of the great comic character actors of his generation.  He was also as both these ALS show a sincere and generous person that often was taken advantage of.  I was glad that he appreciated my letter and it seems to have made his day.

Very nice.  Thanks for sharing.

Hello again...

I would appreciate your opinion on this Official Pix photo, said to been signed by Nick Read, Kenny baker, Danny Blackner, Michael Henbury, Sara Bennett, Alan Bennett, Mike Edmonds, Margo Apostolos, Andy Heard, Malcolm Dixon and Brian Wheeler. The back of the photo is also signed (and dedicated) by Albert Wilkinson.

Do you think it's genuine and if possible, what do you think would be a fair price?

Thanks!

It is genuine. Kenny is the obvious winner in the group for value. Edmonds and Dixon were his co-stars in ESB, JEDI, Willow and Time Bandits, SO I always loved those guys.

$200 is a very realistic price, but with a sucky economy and no major stars, it would be tough to get that.

As a buyer anything under $200 works if you really dig Ewoks.
