Star Wars Collectors Unite!

I have been collecting Star Wars autographs since 1998. Not all of my signatures are on Star Wars memorabilia. For example, when I met Warwick Davis at a comic convention in New York City, I had him sign a Willow photograph. I also have publicity photos of Sir Alec Guinness and Christopher Lee from the 1970s, and a Natalie Portman signed The Diary of Anne Frank theater poster from her performance on Broadway back in 1998. My current wish list includes Peter Cushing, Terence Stamp and John Williams. I am interested in knowing about the collections and wish lists of other members.

I've been fortunate enough to score 2 vintage Natalie Portmans in the past 2 months. Not SW images, but definitely a great acquisition for anyone who collects SW. I don't believe we'll ever see her sign like this again... or even sign at all!

Well when you see one guy with 11 Mark Hamill's...she probably doesn't want to do that the rest of her life lol...

Considering how much money Mark Hamill's autograph is selling for these days, that guy with eleven Mark Hamill autographed photos seems to have made a very worthwhile investment many years ago.

How much are they going for? I got mine in the early 90s off of QVC when he did a show for them. It's a plaque of a pic of yoda on this back and has an empire plate on it limiting the number issued to 1500. Any idea what that's worth?

Ah, the dreaded QVC Hamills, these were the first major flood of Hamill graphs into the marketplace. The Yoda shots and stormtrooper shots, the cast posters and 11x14's, even the Coke posters painted by Boris. Some have held their value but the majority of the plaque mounted pieces have crashed and burned, thanks to the mounting pins driven thru the corners of the 8x10's. The larger 11x14 and poster combos with Fisher, Prowse, Mayhew, Daniels and Baker, sometimes Bulloch, have gone up in value as convention prices to get them individually have risen. You will see them regularly from $300-$400 a piece.

The Hamill 8x10's mounted to the Plaques have dropped from their initial offer price and can be snagged now for about $75 a pop. He regularly charges anywhere from $100-$150 at a show signing now. So be sure to thank Scoreboard and QVC for the great idea of putting holes in the corners.

I do not believe that she ever publicly announced that she would not sign anything that is Star Wars related. It is just something that is understood among collectors. She did not even mention George Lucas when she accepted her Oscar in spite of the fact that she mentioned other people who helped her early in her career.
