Steve asked me to start a new thread since some were having a lot of issues with regards to whether or not the through the mail autographs of Jerry Lee Lewis are real or not. I will post some examples of what we have been getting recently and some know in person examples. These TTM signatures are not cheap. You have to pay $50 for them to his box office box. The question is are they real or not. Roger has said that he has never seen Mr. Lewis sign this way and it looks to perfect - like a woman's signature.
Please post your thoughts here and examples.
thanks
Mark

A few newer era singers said the same thing when websites were doing signed CD booklets which turned out to be autopen.
Was Jerry personally interviewed for the journal or was the quote something that was told to the journal by a publicist or by family. I have no vested interest in Jerry's autograph. I have only ever heard two of his songs-Great Balls of Fire of course and also one he did with Johnny Cash and a few other singers. I'm not a fan but am very interested as an autograph collector.
Here’s a portion of the article, which of course was posted prior to any accusations that he didn’t sign the books:
“The event at the Cannon Center will be a lot of fun with me and Rick Bragg. Our book turned out great,” Lewis said. “My hand is already getting tired from signing all these books, but I’m looking forward to everyone reading about the real Jerry Lee.”

Here is a video of Jerry Lee signing an album. Not a clear view of the autograph, but from what I can see it looks how I’d expect.
And that was at least 5 years ago. I'm sure it hasn't gotten better in that period.
Why wouldn’t it get better in a more relaxed environment?
I’m not sure how much more relaxed the setting could be. There are only a couple people around him, and he’s sitting comfortably in a wheelchair. In an even more relaxed situation, his signature could be a bit more legible (like the ones Chad received when the family got pressed), but it shouldn’t look unlike any verified exemplars from the past.
Since this video was taken, he’s had a stroke, as well.
Yes, and the one I got at the concert also looks like the bottom one. On one of the JLL threads, Roger posted pick guards his friend got in person years ago and they ranged between the top one (messier version) and the bottom one (neater version).
To me, these two look in the same hand, but unfortunately they don’t resemble the recent TTMs.
That doesn’t even look close to me... The slant looks more straight up and down and the fully written out letters r in Jerry and ewis in Lewis are atypical at best. I’m not sure any good exemplars have those features and think it’s very likely secretarial.
I know some like this may have gotten by PSA/DNA and/or JSA, but I think they got them wrong in those cases.
I think we can rule out the ones where the rrs are so defined like that.
