Steve asked me to start a new thread since some were having a lot of issues with regards to whether or not the through the mail autographs of Jerry Lee Lewis are real or not. I will post some examples of what we have been getting recently and some know in person examples. These TTM signatures are not cheap. You have to pay $50 for them to his box office box. The question is are they real or not. Roger has said that he has never seen Mr. Lewis sign this way and it looks to perfect - like a woman's signature.
Please post your thoughts here and examples.
thanks
Mark

It seems photos or video amount to a minor point.
The larger point is the chain through which each party passes off responsibility. Ultimately, no one steps forward to verify any of the assertions put forward.
The manager fails to return subsequent communications.
Whitten is offered as an interview then withdrawn without explanation and without response to subsequent inquiry.
None of that promotes confidence in the assertion that the signatures are authentic or subsequent denials of chicanery by (supposedly) Mrs. Lewis and Whitten.
Taken as a whole it amounts to circumstantial evidence that something is amiss.
the most important point, and one that typically does not exist with other book signings, is that the style of every single one of those books, is different from KNOWN in person signatures. If JLL signatures are one thing, they are inconsistent. so the consistency of those signatures on the books, plus the obvious variance form known authentic examples, should be what is concerning. Not the lack evidence.
There's no indication the manager knew anything about postings on this site.
Far from feeding a frenzy, he failed to respond to significant questions about the veracity of the person he represents. Such matters are something a manager gets paid to handle. His failure to adequately do so and quell any doubts merely provides more reason to question the authenticity of the signatures.
Based on the book signatures I’ve seen, I can’t see how Whitten or anyone else could have pulled off signing on JLL’s behalf. There are too many characteristics that are consistent with his authentic signature that are spread across multiple signatures. PSA/DNA recognizes this signature style as being in the hand of JLL. I very much believe they got it right.
One of the ways I get some up to date exemplars is by simply searching Hashtags or names of people on Twitter/Instagram. For example there have been 2 book signings recently for Tom Delonge (Blink 182), when I look at the #TomDelonge hashtag there are tons of people taking pictures with him, pics of him signing their books, and of course people sharing photos of their signed books.
Don't know if any of that is possible given Jerry's age, but just as a general tip it can be very helpful.
Great post, Albert. I consider it to be an accurate, well-stated summation of the discussion so far.
Elvis Presley's body guards would sign for him all the time. Were they trying to deceive the fan or get one over on them. NO. I think they were only trying to make a fan happy and not bother Elvis with signing another autograph.
Did those signatures go up in value?? Do they have any value what so ever?
NOPE.
I for one, Albert, do not agree with your conclusions.
Mark
I for two, do not agree with "Albert's" longwinded response, but it is uncanny how much interest he has exhibited in a discussion that he deems "a failure".
What exactly don't you agree with?
