This is not even close to authentic and the seller has the nerve to say it's for some charity. (Plus he has ZERO feedback and the "COA" is probably made up.

Wish there was a way to warn the buyer -- but Ebay took care of that.

More garbage from same seller.

Is tgat COA signed by a retired NYPD officer? Ive seen these floating around, terrible.
Yep. RM Real is another one of these retired law enforcement "forensic experts" getting into the game. Just what the hobby needs... Another GFA.

Pure junk from seller jo.belin

They are probably just shill bids, it would take a new kind of stupid to immediately bid $2000 on something that dubious. The account must be linked with another seller account with a lot of history, ebay imposes a $500 sellers limit on all new accounts unless you link a previous account with a lot of history. Which also could be why they haven't removed them yet. Wonder what that account is.

Didn't know that Mike T -- you mean a new seller with no feedback can only list items with an opening bid under $500?  If that's true, it's a good bet the seller doesn't want to screw up his feedback by listing those fake guitars under his longer term eBay account.  Devious.

Yes, the starting limit is $500.  The only way to increase the limit is to maintain a good record selling items, or link another ebay account that has a strong (and clean) selling record.  In order to get the limit raised from $500 to $7000 which would allow him/her to list the 5 items currently live, they would have to link a pretty hefty account with a lot of history.  I just tried creating a new account, and I linked my ebay account that is 5+ years old with 200+ positive feedback and it only increased my limit to $1500.  So their account must be pretty substantial.

My guess is that you are correct, they have an upstanding account and do not wish to taint it with these terrible forgeries.  Which means they know exactly what they are doing. The good news is that since they linked their accounts, if action is taken against one, it can be applied to the other as well.

U2, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the East Street band, and Cream all signed with perfectly applied signatures, using the same orientation on the guitar and with all the signatures at the same angle. AMAZING!! Apparently this didn't strike the "forensic expert" as unusual.

What's unusual about "forensic experts" certifying forgeries, Steve?  :P

They would certify a ham sandwich if provided with the proper cash!

R&M Real's authenticator is Forensic Questioned Document Examiner Michael Ciravolis. Last I hear their biggest client was Anthony Nurse of Autograph Store and Charity Fundraising Packages:

Jeff gold has a blog when he purchased some fake Dylan autographs about Fde. It's worth a read.
