Lee Kuan Yew (16 September 1923 – 23 March 2015), commonly referred to by his initials LKY and sometimes referred to in his earlier years as Harry Lee, was the first prime minister of Singapore, governing for three decades. Lee is recognised as the nation's founding father, with the country described as transitioning from a "third world country to first world country in a single generation" under his leadership. LKY Signed Book dedicated to Lord Peter Carrington who was the British Minister of Defence. Circa 2000 from the Lord Carrington Estate.

this is an old thread but l wanted to add mine and hope other will add again and getter back going again!!!

I as a teacher for years and every morning I would go to the same place around the corner for work

over the years I got friendly with one of the customers(older man). he was a betting man and always talked about his numbers

he knew l was a mets fan (like himself) and he was talking about a baseball signed by the 69 mets and if l wanted it--he said its just sitting in his closet and no one to give it too...I politely said ABSOLUTELY and taking that with a grain of salt

he never mentioned it again. some months went by and I didn't think anything of that conversation but each morning there we were talking about numbers and the season

one day towards the end of the school year I went thru usual morning ritual of going to the deli

he was there as always and he handed me a plastic bag with tissue paper and he said sorry that he had taken so long...I opened it and there it was ---69 mets baseball signed by the team (minus ryan)

I was more then thrilled and I asked how much he really wanted for the ball and he breakfast is payment enough. I looked at it closely and on the sweet spot was Hodges signature but it was very faint

if you turned it a little off center (like you are sneaking up on it) you can see it...it is very visible under black lite. Seaver's sig looked like it was signed today!! lol BUT NO IT WASNT..LOL

I have it sitting in a case with the gold glove and its sitting on my dresser so l can say hello and good night every night...

that is one of my favorites in my collection..i have many others but the ball is #1
