Sterling Morrison (The Velvet Underground) — cardholder’s receipt for $12.24 from the legendary NYC nightclub and restaurant Max’s Kansas City:

The receipt is dated 1/15 (January 15th), but no year is given. Taking into account Sterling’s known home addresses, the Velvets’ gig schedule, and the NYC local tax rate changes, I have concluded with some degree of certainty that the receipt must date from January 1969.

Adjusted for inflation, $12.24 in 1969 is worth approximately $98.78 as of August 2022.

Ken Dryden, from the recently released "The Series", which deals with the author's recollections of the Team Canada 1972 series against Russia during the 50th anniversary of the event.

As I understand it, there are about 400 or so of these bookplates that were issued via a livestream for viewers who bought tickets to it (myself included), notwithstanding a run of signed books that were issued for a collector's set (approx. 2,000) produced for the anniversary.

Perhaps. I'm aware that he doesn't really like doing signings - the whole thing about him looping the D up into the recipients name is done to discourage people cutting autos out, IIRC.

I have found better examples of his sig in the wild, but most of them went to a collector buddy of mine. The only other one I kept is a non-sports copy of "Moved and the Shaken" where he signed it as "Ken" to a Canadian author.

Here's another item that may be of interest for your records -- a copy of "Home Game" that I sourced from a Goodwill earlier this week. His signing style has certainly changed in recent times to make it more difficult for people to clip out his signature.

I recently purchased this hat at a local thrift store, owner didn't know who it was signed by. I've tried to find out who signed it out of curiosity but I can't seem to identify it. Could anyone help me out?
