Hi,

Whenever I hear people talking about third party authentication I always hear PSA/DNA, JSA, and Roger Epperson. Who is he though? I am not at all slandering him and any way I always hear how he is the gold standard for music! I actually just used him

for a Madonna piece that he said looked good which I am thrilled about! I was just wonder if he has worked with anyone in particular which made him

musics gold standard. I have heard he works heavily with RR Auctions!

thank you!

He used to be the primary music authenticator for PSA/DNA.  He also has worked quite a lot for JSA as well.  He may still be a consultant for JSA, not sure.  Plus, he obviously authenticates music autographs independently.  Has he made any mistakes?  Probably, but he is highly-regarded in music autograph authentication.

Well roger definitely got patrick1977 poisons stuff wrong. That’s for sure

Everyone makes mistakes. No way around it.

I used his quick opinion a lot but I listen to experienced forums members more. I don't know how his full authentification service is though.

100% my main go to for Rock Autograph authentication.

The best music authenticator and one of the good guys in the autograph community IMO!

I second that !!! Save me a lot of $$$$ using his quick opinion !!!!

But always make sure to get a second opinion. He is just a human beeing and somtimes get's it wrong. Just a couple of days ago there was a ebay auction with a obvios Queen Miracle LP fake where he, if the seller was not lying and the email showed in thd auction not faked, gave thumbs up. The auctio  ended around 1200USD and I hope the buyer got warned that it is a fake.

Sellers posting online authenticity opinions are more often than not selling obvious forgeries. It's highly unlikely Epperson would miss a forgery as you described. It's no doubt not genuine or not for that album.

Here's an image of the alleged email exchange. Nice job if it's fake (the email, that is).

Indeed. Some of you may remember the thread last year in which I spotted a fake Freddie Mercury letter that roger gave the thumbs up to. After taking the appropriate steps and reaching out to roger (along with providing comparison photos and proof), he agreed he made a mistake and the item was refunded to whoever purchased it (he handled it kindly and quickly, which was appreciatedl. I think hes great at a ton of artists but I'm not sure anyone can have a high score for all artists. Seems very difficult. He has indeed made mistakes but I'm not familiar enough with his emails to tell you if that Queen item was really approved by him or not. It's not genuine, though, no. And he certainly hasn't gotten them all wrong either.
