Williams/DiMaggio forgeries eBay seller grandpapsantiques

eBay seller grandpapsantiques has some ugly Williams/DiMaggio forgeries listed.

These are common "Florida Forgeries", accompanied by a "Autographed Legends LLC" worthless COA.

These often come in intricate display cases to try and hide the horrible forgeries.

BIN of $299 which would be a good deal if these were authentic, unfortunately they are not.

I find it interesting that after we brought this pen stroke up in a discussion as a way to tell an authentic Joe D, that these Florida forgeries magically started being produced with the same stroke... Hmmm...

Well, the ink trail from the "oe" to the D is a positive attribute that indicates a quick, instinctive signature. This example looks more like the "oe" just ran into the D.

The Florida fakes are machine signed and they have a finite number of templates they mix and match. If they have indeed added this in an attempt to manufacture the appearance of a positive attribute, no worries... we'll soon see this trait in great numbers on identical looking signatures. LOL

DiMaggio is a little harder for me to spot. But these florida forgeries are easy to see....its all in training the eye to see what is good and what is not.

ridiculous framing, ridiculous story from a seller, ridiculous cartoonish looking scribble, ridiculous COA's...put them all together and you have a ridiculous story for a ridiculously high price piece of S*** from a ridiculous moron. The whole thing is GD Ridiculous.

Williams sometimes did sign his name "split-level" at times here is an authenticated example of that. Just saying don't always go on that theory. But yes it seems that just about all the florida forgeries do have that split level characteristic.

Also Williams natural sig is much more "loopy"/"rounded" then these forgeries. Sort of hard to explain, but these Florida forgeries are very "thin/vertical/elongated/pointy" with the letter formations...
