*****YEAR IN REVIEW 2023: WHAT WERE YOUR TOP GETS? MISSES?*****

Wanted to start by thanking our founder  Steve Cyrkin, Admin for this wonderful site!

I'm up to 65 Friends here, and so appreciate  everybody's contributions in this community to help build our collections in this Autograph hobby we all so love.

As 2023 comes to a close, it's time again for:

*****YEAR IN REVIEW 2023: WHAT WERE YOUR TOP GETS? MISSES?*****

If you all will kindly allow me to go first here's

*****MY TOP GETS: (In no apparent order)

Rod Stewart

Rob Halford (Judas Priest)

The Struts

Geddy Lee (Rush)

Duff McKagen (Guns N Roses)

Def Leppard

Iggy Pop

Shania Twain

Adam Lambert

*****MY MISSES:

None this year, our awesome community shared some incredible finds and I got all the ones that interested me!

Now, I am still looking for a BRIAN MAY. London Stereoscopic has a book for 50 pounds, plus 30 pounds Shipping to Canada...that's almost $140 CAD and I could still get hit with Duty. Hoping Brian will do a solo album in 2024 and pick up a signed Cd for way less than $140!

So...now it's your turn.... 2023: WHAT WERE YOUR TOP GETS? MISSES?

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year...See you in 2024 !!!

Nice list! I'd love a McCartney but even at $1500 retail I'm not sure I could do it regardless of what it's really worth.

I passed on the airplane book and regret it so much now. My plan would have been to cut the page and mount with one of my Neilson signatures but decided to leave it for someone who would leave the book intact. I thought it's probably for the best for the sake of the hobby but I grew up on this type of comedy. Stupid me didn't consider just keeping the book intact for my own collection instead of cutting lol. Bonehead decision.

Hopefully Green Day comes through for you. It's one Im probably going to cave in and buy on the secondary market if anything.

Thanks man! You had an awesome year from your list, but hope next year is better for you medically!
:-)

Yeah, I was lucky enough to find McCartney at retail but still not an easy one on the wallet by any means…

Same on comedy and always neat hearing about your SNL collection…had to have the Airplane! book after growing up on the movie. Hope you can track one down eventually but very cool to have Nielsen.

Thanks about Green Day, hoping there may be something either in-store or online on/around release date…I was cautious of doing the pre-order indie-store thing, thinking it was a repeat of  RHCP but should have gone for it. Agree will probably go secondary if nothing else.

Thanks Jimmy, you rule, and this community rules as well. I've gotten so much out of this community for the past year. Steve and the other admins helped me A LOT in getting information and also some good finds this year.

Some of my favorites that I got this year:

  • Tommy Thayer (from KISS Concert)
  • Eric Singer (from Kiss Concert)
  • Bruce Kulick
  • Chad Smith of RHCP
  • Mammoth WVH
  • Parkway Drive
  • In Flames
  • Bury Tomorrow
  • Papa Roach
  • Def Leppard
  • Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue
  • Avenged Sevenfold
  • Geezer Butler
  • Geddy Lee
  • Skindred
  • Sevendust
  • Corey Taylor
  • Duff McKagan
  • Rival Sons
  • Godsmack
  • Tremonti
  • Beartooth
  • Black Stone Cherry
  • Alice Cooper
  • Pop Evil
  • The Amity Affliction
  • Tim Ripper Owens
  • Tenacious D
  • Airbourne
  • Kevin Neslon (Author of Operation Bullpen)

Some other cool ones I got but I still haven't had the chance to listen to them properly:

  • Buckcherry
  • Iggy Pop
  • Greta Van Fleet
  • Scorpions (thru fanmail)
  • Ville Valo (singer of HIM)
  • Overkill
  • Staind
  • Unearth
  • Dave Lombardo
  • Empire State Bastard
  • Greg Graffin (singer of Bad Religion)
  • The Damned
  • Black Star Riders
  • Theory Of A Deadman
  • Tallah

Some stuff I missed out on:

  • Hollywood Undead
  • Extreme
  • Green Day
  • Within Temptation

That's some great stuff! I wanted to send off for the scorpions fanmail. Emailed them about it and they told me to send a few euros for shipping with my request. I asked if they would take US dollars and never received a response. Ended up spending around $30 for the vinyl that included the signed card. I'd really love to grab 1 more for my daughter. How long did the turn around take?

Thanks JH :)

Specifically this item didn't take too long, for me it was about like 2-3 weeks from the day I visited the post-office to the day I got the return envelope back. But I'm from Israel and the shipping services here are pretty slow, although I'm not sure if it's slower than from US to Europe and back...

How did you get Ville Valo?

There were 3-4 seperate bundles with signed pic a few months ago. Here's a link to 1, they've all been sold out now.

Damn, how did I miss this?! Well done for grabbing it.

Yeeeeaaaahhhhh that's on point! I got it from Outburn mag \m/

You should follow them for cool autographed bundles, they now have one with none other than Slipknot's CT \m/

I became active here about 15 months ago and I can't speak highly enough of the group here. While I'm typically not fast enough to start a thread, I try to contribute within threads wherever I think I can help. Some stuff I've found this year, mainly due to this site, but some on my own:

Brian Johnson

Geezer Butler

Wolfgang Van Halen

Gary Moore

Vinny Appice

Sacred Reich full band

Machine Head full band

Rob Halford

Kai Hansen

Michael Weikath

Adrian Vandenberg

Rival Sons full band

Glenn Danzig & Jerry Only

Gavin Rossdale

Riot V full band

Mick Box

Ed Sheeran

The Airplane! guys

Empire State Bastard

Carcass full band

Billy Connolly (gift for family member)

Andy Partridge (gift for family member

Regarding misses, I'm trying to think if there was anything that wasn't a live event (really jealous of those who met James Hetfield and today, Neil Young). If the Green Day order cancels that will be very disappointing. That's about all I can think of.

Woooww, cool list my dude!

How did you get Machine Head? I'm sooooooo jealous hehe

Machine Head was available @ Zia Records on December 23rd 2022, received mine on Jan 3rd, 2023. Machine Head - Of Kingdom & Crown (Autographed Zia Exclusive) Brown & Orange Color Vinyl. Not sure if other stores had it too. It turned out really decent.
