Soldier in Afghanistan Needs Sports Authenticity Opinions

Soldier in Afghanistan Needs Sports Authenticity Opinions

A soldier in Afghanistan bought these sports autographs and would like to know what you think of them! Almost all have been authenticated, and I've either cropped the photos to remove the authentication stickers, or covered them.

Please only comment on authenticity when you feel confident in your opinion.

Thanks for helping one of our heroes in harm's way!

Unfortunately, every Mantle was done by the same hand, but I do not think it was Mickey Mantle's.  These all appear to be "Milkey Mautle" forgeries we've seen sold with a Burczyk COA. The Ted Williams also appears to be the signature style typically accompanied by a Burczyk COA.

I have **some** familiarity with Hank Aaron, and these strike me as being too neat and slowly drawn. In my experience, Aaron signs very quickly and tends to be a bit messy.

If these photos turn out not to be authentic, I would be willing to provide this serviceman as a gift not just from me but from all of us on the site, several authentically signed items to replace the ones here.

If you send me the name and address privately, I will send a package and address it from "The members of Autograph Magazine Live"

It is the least we can do for our servicemen.

John, Chris, Brandon...thank you all so much for your generosity. If many of these are bad, it's very sad news, especially if he can't get a refund. But it's extremely important that we be as sure as possible one way or another.

Could someone post a request on Net54 for members to check these out and let us know?

I'm going to ask the soldier to send the actual items in since some are the same signature placed on different images. These were screenshots captured from the company he bought them from.

They all look not authentic. I know the woods and Williams are 100%

Looks like these were all bought through the AAFES auction.  They come with either Burcyck, TTA, STAT, AAU(Drew Max) or Chris Morales certificates with a big long statement that these opinions will stand up in a court of law. Also states that other authentication agencies will decline these as being authentic because PSA and JSA are trying to run these "honest" authenticators out of business. They also claim these were obtained in a warehouse full of stuff from the old Scoreboard Company. Same rumors all the sellers of this junk use.

AAFES is aware of the possibility that the autographs they are selling are "not real". Being a Soldier myself I bought some of these believing AAFES would only partner up with solid partners. I sent mine to a "real" authentication company only to learn I had been  taken. I e-mailed AAFES last August about it. They are standing behind the auction company and the legitamate reputations of both the original auction company and STAT authentic. Needless to say I was stuck with them since they were all based on opinion and the one they had said they were good.

I'm not a baseball expert but this sounds fishy to me...I would be very careful.  Rick makes really good points.  I personally wouldn't waste my money unless they have been authenticated by someone reliable like PSA/DNA.
