This was in the Coach's Corner Auction that ended January 1, 2010. It was authenticated by forensic document examiner Christopher Morales. Do you think it is real or a forgery?

A lmost has me convinced but I would still be wary, as I don't like the slant of the wriiting from left to right (not the slant relative to the paper) and the lazy spread of the writing trying to look natural. I can't tell from the scan if the ts are crossed right to left as they should be and there are no characteristic Lincoln ds to confirm. Lincoln did use the odd looped y unfortunately especially at thestart of correspondence. Looking at RC Whites bio of Lincoln with many letters over the years, concludes me to say FAKE. Lincoln would trust them to get on with it and he'd just met them on 28 March and Grant was attacking at st Petersburg and woud hardly find the time to answer

It looks like a good effort but I would not be convinced enough to buy.

I tend to think it is fake. I am no expert at Lincoln's signature. Plus it only went for under $1000?

NOT AUTHENTIC! Also, Beware of the NASCAR autographs on that site! with the exception of one GAI Coa'd item, they are ALL FORGERIES!
