Looks a bit off to me. It is at least in the correct style for 1978, the doodle doesn't look typical. I don't want to disrespect any experts but I can say that I would not buy it personally.

Thats an awawfully crisp signature for having been signed in 79. Looks like it was signed last week. Absolutely no wear on the ink. It screams forgery. I wouldnt touch at all.

It was signed with a black marker i would get some opinion about style and form not ink's age

Well I only really have enough knowledge to feel confident on giving an opinion on their Beatle autographs. I have not searched the website much but the Beatle autographs I have seen there so far (the ones I linked to are not good IMO.

Perhaps others will offer their opinions as well.

There's no way this signed album is authentic, not even in the style John was signing in 1980!

I agree with Karl. The John signature looks off to me as well. I certainly consider Rare and Signed to be unreliable. They are actually on eBay's list of banned COAs.
