This makes quite a nice watch. It was first broadcast a few months ago but I only just spotted the clip on the AR site. For once, the valuation (GBP 5,000 - 7,000) seems about right.…Continue

A year or two ago I bought a postcard of Shanghai bearing Ali's autograph. The seller was from Switzerland. The card was apparently signed by Ali when he travelled to China in 1985. I find Ali's…Continue

"Thank you! I don't honestly know when my example was signed but I would guess it is more likely from the 80s than 70s. I may be able to find out more exactly as I know who the "Andreas" in question is and I could probably ask through…"

"Looks fine to me without even having to look at other examples again. This one of mine is probably from the same kind of period."

"I'm amazed that the first of the two examples passed Beckett authentication. I don't think I've seen one quite like that before. The "H" is particularly odd. The second example seems right but is much later as Eric notes."

"I would also say that it looks rather carefully written and certain parts look a little odd - e.g. the "urn".  Compare it to to this one of mine that I drag out in every discussion of her signature from this period:"

"The OP made GBP 1,750 before premiums. The market has spoken but I'm not sure exactly what it said. Seems like a "sitting on the fence" kind of result."

"I'm amazed at that. Perhaps the lack of a dotted i or the dots within the ink (which are unusual for Jimi I think) are troubling him. "

"By the way Ballroom, I just posted an Antiques Roadshow video clip that shows an autograph that is very similar to yours and the OP - signed in November 1967 I think. "

"I noticed that missing dot too but it is obviously real. The provenance letter is probably a little embellished - I doubt that Jimi was driven to the show in a limo - but that is also hardly surprising. "

"There is absolutely no way I would want the fully abbreviated Paul signature. I guess the low edition numbers of the photographs makes them desirable but the signature is garbage - looks more like "RM a" or "R McCann""
