Neil Armstrong Autograph Study from Zarelli Space Authentication

As some of you know, my name is Steve Zarelli and I am an astronaut , cosmonaut and aviation autograph authenticator for RR Auction, JSA, SGC as well as dealers and collectors worldwide. I have been studying Neil Armstrong autographs for over 15 years, and every week I examine multiple Neil Armstrong autographs for one or more of my clients.

I have published a Neil Armstrong Autograph study at my web site, www.ZarelliSpaceAuthentication.com.

My Neil Armstrong study shows multiple exemplars over time and demonstrates how his signature evolved from pre-NASA through when he stopped signing in the 90s. I also have proxy/secretarial examples as well as an overview of some forgery styles from over the years... some quite recent from active forgers.

Stay tuned because I plan on adding additional studies including Gus Grissom, Ed White and maybe more.

Please check out the study when you get a chance and hopefully you find it informative.

I have seen some checks similar to #1 though.

Perhaps I should have been more detailed when I mentioned documents. There is no hard and fast rule, but generally, if someone wrote to him as Neil Armstrong the astronaut, he would reply with the stylistic abbreviated signature. You see it on NASA letters, photos etc. He used the full script autograph for documents more related to his personal business affairs. You see it on checks, receipts and business documents.

The images you provided are quite small, but I would assume those are TLSs related to NASA affairs and not his personal business.

Jeffects (Jeff Clark) posted a long and rambling rant against apparently everyone. It had nothing to do with the subject of this blog and referred to old matters with other authenticators and dealers of which I have no knowledge. It had no place here and has been removed.

Awesome information, Mr. Zipper.

When it comes to Space autographs, no one is better.

Hi  Steve!  Greetings from Johannesburg, South Africa!  I am a former local employee retired consular assistant, having worked at the US consulate in Johannesburg for over 40 years.  During the course of my long career I was lucky to meet many famous persons and have hundreds of items as memorablia.  Among my collection are several philatelic, FDC, coins, and of course autographs of space travel, and most importantly, autograph of Neil Armstrong.  While I have no doubt of their authenticity, I would like to share these here later, as soon as I get organized.   I hope you will also shed more light on my collection.
