PSA Grades Counterfeit 2000 SP Sandy Koufax Autograph Card

Immediately below are a few links to previous threads on forged/counterfeit Sandy Koufax "2000 SP Authentic" cards.

No need to mention the seller, since they obviously don't know autographs, but what continues to concern me, is PSA grading the below forged/counterfeit Sandy Koufax "2000 SP Authentic" card.

This is extremely disappointing.

I will also write, and as everyone knows, I am pro-TPA, but this continues to occur.

Is this just plain sloppiness or laziness?

With all of the information out there on the various forged/counterfeit cards, why isn't PSA on the lookout for these.  I know I informed them months ago about this issue.

Please note that PSA only graded the card, they did not authenticate the autograph, but this will fool the novices into believing that because PSA slabbed the card, that the autograph is authentic.

PSA, this really has to stop.

The autograph is forged as you can clearly observe below.

Here is the back of the card confirming it is a counterfeit.

Here's another forged counterfeit Sandy Koufax that PSA graded.

Confirmed counterfeit card.

Here is another counterfeit card that PSA graded.

Look at that laughable forgery.

It looks like they did in fact authenticate the autograph? In the verification database it shows a population of seven. When you click the “Population” link, it says that there are 212 cards and seven autographed cards.

They really need to up their game.  They are getting paid to offer opinions, there is no excuse for this sloppiness.

Here's a Arod PSA slabbed and authenticated autograph.  Note that the slab reads "PSA/DNA Certifiied."

Either way, this was a sloppy error from PSA.   These days no TPA can assume that a pack-pulled autograph card is authentic and original.

Here's another one.

Observe the Koufax slab does not read "PSA/DNA Cert."

By certifying the card, they are essentially agreeing that the autograph is real because the card is real. This is GAI level of sloppiness.

Here’s a gold one:

Again, that one is not certed.  They only graded the card.

Fake autograph aside, what is most alarming is that PSA is not catching that these are counterfeit CARDS. These fake cards have fuzzy photos that are obviously second generation and crooked text. How are they NOT catching that the cards are counterfeits?!?

Steve, right on the money.

I have a few of the various counterfeit cards and I find it incomprehensible that PSA doesn't catch these immediately.
