Here are a few items I have had hand signed in person for me by the great Ray Harryhausen over the years! These are hanging all over my walls. I also have many more still photos signed by Ray and I own ALL of his books signed for me as well! I wrote a long article on him back in 2006 for Autograph Magazine. The one poster is from the Famous Monsters Con in 1993 and signed by many icons like Harryhausen, Bradbury and Ackerman! I could write a book on just that 3 day convention, and I interviewed Ray Harryhausen in his hotel room that weekend with ALL of his famous models he took out of a locked case! OMG, I am so lucky.

The passing of a legend. I loved all those old stop motion monster movies and still prefer them to some of the cgi stuff. ( I know Im old)

Great photos! I remember doing a story on Comic Con one year, about 8 years ago, and was talking to somebody at a table. An older guy sat down next to me, and a crowd of about 45 people just started applauding. I leaned over to the person I was talking with and said "Who is that dude that everybody is clapping for?" Yep. It was Ray. I could've gotten his autograph, but didn't have anything for him. I've always sort of felt, why get somebody on an index card? I'd rather have a DVD or photo or something, otherwise...I have to be a huge fan to bother for a signature on a scrap of paper.

Hi Josh,

At least you did get to meet Ray Harryhausen, and that is a good thing! I still have never been to a California Comic Con before, and hope to do that one year! I bet you had a great time!
